A Little Bit of Kindness Goes a Long Way

Hello Friends ~

How was your week? Are you doing okay adjusting to new routines and to changes in expectations? It seems there's changes everywhere: home, work, family, shopping, communication, sleep, exercise…

And what about your feelings - are you adjusting to emotional changes too?

For us this week has included a range of emotions - frustration, anger, apprehension, fear, sadness. Have you caught yourself wiping a tear away (and then feeling 'bad' that you touched your face!)

We've also felt joy and gratitude through long phone calls, window visits with loved ones, honking parades for health care workers, and sidewalk chalk messages in our neighbourhoods.

Getting outside has boosted our spirits, reminding us of the glory of nature and the healing that comes from sunshine, fresh air and being still.

And we want those positive feelings to grow. We need them to grow in the weeks ahead. So let's create a different kind of pandemic ~ a

#kindnesspandemic

There's a lot of research in neuroscience and social science that confirms the benefits of kindness - we won't go into that now. But it's true - the more acts of kindness you do, the better you'll feel; the better you feel, the more likely you are to do more acts of kindness. The pandemic spreads. And You Will Feel Better.

What are you doing to spread a #kindnesspandemic? Remember, acts of kindness don't have to be big and flashy. Small, simple acts of kindness can create a BIG ripple.

Here's a few simple ideas:

Paint rocks and leave randomly around your neighbourhood.

Post messages in your windows.

Tie blue ribbons around trees (for healthcare workers)

Bake and Share - Try our Biscotti Recipe

Biscotti is easy to make - but if you're reluctant to try it on your own, Deb will be doing a Facebook Live cooking class on this in the very near future. We'll send out the details.

Remember - we want to see your joy and your acts of kindness, so be sure to follow and tag us (links below). Talk to you soon.

Keep well, stay connected, be kind.
